My voice a bloodless whisper

Story has it that the Cumaean Sibyl was fated by her ill-considered request to Apollo for eternal life (without eternal youth) to become increasingly decrepit until all that was left was her aged voice crying out, "I want to die" from inside an ampulla, in this case a bell jar in reference to Sylvia Plath's novel. The impulse behind this drawing concerns how as a death-fearing society we sometimes keep our loved ones alive at all costs, not allowing them the dignity of a natural or medically assisted death.
